RIO, A love Afair

Founded in 1565 by the Portuguese, Rio de Janeiro is the second-most populous city in Brazil. The birthplace of musical genres like Samba, Bossa Nova, Funk Carioca and many others, Rio is known as "The Marvelous City" for its natural settings and beautiful and always welcoming people, landscapes, beaches and famous landmarks like the giant statue of Christ the Redeemer and Sugarloaf Mountain.

Rio de Janeiro is a main cultural hub in Brazil with several museums, libraries, galleries and is home to some of the most beautiful parties in the world, Carnival and Réveillon. Every 31 December, 2.5 million people gather at Copacabana Beach to celebrate New Year's in Rio de Janeiro. The crowd, mostly dressed in white, celebrates all night at the hundreds of different shows and events along the beach. For this reason and much more, Rio was the chosen city for our new collection RIO, A LOVE AFFAIR.

Just like Brazilians with their mixed races, cultures and religions, the collection has a hard to separate DNA. Comprised of sophisticated reversible jackets, sexy dresses, African inspired garments, silk chiffon blouses, Ethiopian cotton, taffetas, African wax fabrics, brocades, devores and much more - all very different textures, colors, origins and feels - all navigate together through the collection without any conflict.

- More Brazilian? Impossible!

This collection was photographed in some known and unknown places to tourists, all very important to Rio’s modern culture - Bar dos Descasados, Museu do Amanhã, Earth and Sciences Museum, Morro do Vidigal and the Santa Teresa neighborhood. We once again partnered with Ravaneli Mesquita with the goal of showing this collection and Rio in the most ethereal and poetic way
